The first hole at DeLa offers a good taste of the 26 to follow. It is by most standards long (even in the shortest of its three pin positions), slightly uphill, and all three basket placements are in wooded locations. Right handers favor a back-handed roller shot, but exposed roots in front of each elevated green make birdies a matter of luck in addition to skill. An oak tree close to the teepad takes away the straight shot to the two basket locations on the right, and additional trees with low ceilings around all three pin placements complicate upshots longer than 40 feet. The third basket location (not shown on the map) is 40 feet straight past the “B” location and around six feet higher.
